BREAKFAST FOR LEARNING ALBERTA

Breakfast for Learning Alberta supports child nutrition programs by working with schools and community groups to establish breakfast, lunch and/or snack programs.  In 2007/08, Breakfast for Learning Alberta helped start and sustain 291 child nutrition programs, serving healthy meals and snacks to 16,062 students.

Breakfast for Learning Alberta is governed by the Breakfast for Learning Advisory Council, formed in May 2003, who’s vision is to ensure every child in Alberta attends school well-nourished and ready to learn.

The Breakfast for Learning Alberta Advisory Council (BFLAAC) is made up of volunteers who give generously of their time, skills and experience to provide Breakfast for Learning Alberta with leadership and direction. These volunteers come from a wide range of disciplines, businesses and professions and help review all Alberta program grant applications to make recommendations for funding, in addition to advocating for healthy nutrition for all school children.
