“At about noon every day, the doors open and the aroma of freshly cooked food fills the hallway. Lunch is a time to meet our friends and gather together for a meal.
People ask me where do I live and when I tell them, they say that I live in a bad area because of the violence and difficulties. We may live in a difficult area, but we have hopes and dreams like every other Canadian, we are smart and know that we can compete with any other kids in the city. The lunch program feeds our bodies. And healthy bodies make healthy minds.
We need people to continue to keep thinking of us and our community. We want them to continue the student nutrition programs. You will never know how much influence the decisions you make today will have on the future of students like myself and my friends.”
